DEADWOOD, S.D. (08/26/22) – Wheelhouse Records trio and nominee for ACM New Duo or Group of the Year Runaway June, “a band that’s well on its way to Country music superstardom” (People.com), will be one of many artists scheduled to perform at the Saturday Night Showcase as part of the Wild West Songwriter’s Festival at Deadwood Mountain Grand on Saturday, October 8th.

The group is best known for their infectiously anthemic single of positivity and empowerment “Buy My Own Drinks” which became the first Top 20 radio single by a Country female band or trio in 14 years when it was released in 2019. The band joins an ever growing list of the best songwriters in America that will be appearing and performing at the festival, October 6-9 throughout the City of Deadwood, South Dakota.

The festival will feature three days of “writer’s rounds” which will feature songwriters performing hits they have written and telling the story behind the music. These rounds are fan favorites most notably because they are able to listen to songs that have sold millions across the world in very intimate venues throughout the historic town of Deadwood.

Dubbed one of the “best live music festivals for fans” and one of the “top ten songwriter’s festivals you don’t want to miss” the three day event co-sponsored with the Deadwood Chamber & Visitors Bureau will feature songwriters that have produced hits for everyone from Sugarland, George Straight, Tim McGraw, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney and more recently Steven Tyler just to name a few.

In addition to the popular writer’s rounds, the event will also feature local rounds for regional artists with the event culminating on Saturday night with a showcase of all songwriter’s and performers on the Deadwood Mountain Grand Stage.

All of the Thursday, Friday and Saturday writer’s rounds are free to the public, tickets for the Saturday showcase are on sale now through the Deadwood Mountain Grand Box Office or at ticketmaster.com.
